PINTEREST FOR BLOGGERS & BUSINESS
If you haven't been using Pinterest to promote your blog posts (or even the products from your Etsy or another web store), you are missing out on a goldmine of traffic and revenue! It drives almost 75% of the traffic to my blog and is also responsible for the majority of my blog income! When using it to grow your blog, you simply need to:
- Convert to a business account
- Validate your website/blog and enable rich pins
- Create visually appealing vertical images for each blog post
- Create a “blog” board to pin them to
- Schedule your pins to pin to other relevant boards with Tailwind.
In addition to promoting your blog posts, you can use Pinterest to increase your subscribers by creating pins for your email optins (anything you give away or give access to). You can also create pins that lead to your resource page or other pages that aren't “blog posts.”
Want to increase your blog income? Create pins for any of the affiliate programs you normally promote on your blog! Check out my Girl Bosses Rock YouTube Channel for some video tutorials on this and more!
If you really want to up your Pinterest game for growing your blog, enroll in Pinterest for Bloggers & Business. This comprehensive course has video tutorials for every lesson starting with creating your “blog board” and SEO-optimizing your profile and boards, to how to hide pins within a blog post, to how to create great blog post pins that generate traffic and much more.
CREATE GREAT PINS
There are several programs to use for creating pins but the two most often used are:
CANVA – Canva is free and super easy to use to create Pinterest pins (and graphics for just about anything else!). They do offer a paid upgrade but you really don't need it. You can find hundreds of free stock images to use instead of paying for the ones on Canva. Plus, you'll want to brand your images and the ones on Canva are kind of plain. Here is a quick video on using Canva to create a pin.
AUTOMATE YOUR PINNING
Pinterest loves for you to be active with pinning at different times during the day. Well, if you are like most people, you simply cannot just play on Pinterest all day! So, there are a couple of scheduling tools to help you with that. There is absolutely NO WAY I could be as successful as I am with Pinterest if I didn't have my Tailwind!!
TAILWIND – is the scheduling tool used most often by Pinterest pinners. Tailwind enables you to spend about an hour once a week and schedule out your pins so they are pinning consistently throughout the day. You can get started for free and pin up to 100 pins before needing to upgrade to a paid version. Use my referral link and get a $15 credit for use when you upgrade to a paid subscription! Oh, and here is the best part – make a few pins to promote Tailwind and keep earning referral credits to make your annual renewal completely free!
Aside from pinning to your own boards, you'll definitely want to join a few relevant group boards on Pinterest. These are boards in which many people share their pins so others can repin them to their own boards. It is a really great way to maximize the audience that sees your pins. to see my Pinterest Group Boards by Niche Simply click on the link to the board you are interested in joining and follow the instructions listed on the board for how to join. If there are no instructions listed, you can send a private message to the board owner (the first “circle” shown).
There are several really great Pinterest training courses besides mine that you can also check out. While I would LOVE for you to take one of my courses, there are also some other ones out there that you can check out. I'm all for supporting my other Girl Bosses out there! I've taken all of these courses myself and they are great! I actually took what I learned from all of them to create my own, but you can make your own decision on which one to take!
Pinterest Ninja is actually the very first “training” that I purchased related to Pinterest – taught by Megan at Love, Family, Health!
